Rules & Policy

  1. Rules and/or policy on athletes and officials from Sabah representing other states/clubs/association in any local or international championship.
    1. The preferred policy and rule on this matter ought to be as follows:-

A member of the Association shall not without the prior written approval of the Supreme Council represent any association other than Sabah Karate Association, or represent any State other than the State of Sabah, or represent any country other than Malaysia.

A breach of this rule amounts to a serious breach of discipline for which member may be suspended or expelled from being a member of the Association upon the decision of a disciplinary committee appointed and convened by the Supreme Council for such purpose.
    1. This rule means that members of SKA may only represent SKA, Sabah and Malaysia.
  2. Rules and/or policy on athletes and officials from Sabah to compete and/or attend any local or international championship or any karate function:-
    1. The preferred policy and rule on this matter ought to be as follows:

A member of the Association shall not without the prior written approval of the Supreme Council participate in any karate event which is not officially sanctioned by the Association or which is not organised by an organisation of which the Association is an affiliate.

A member of the Association shall not without the prior written approval of the Supreme Council participate in any karate event at National and International level.

For this purpose of this rule, the Supreme Council may from time to time issue a standing list of events for which approval is granted, and may from time to time amend such list.

A breach of this rule amounts to a serious breach of discipline for which member may be suspended or expelled from being a member of the Association upon the decision of a disciplinary committee appointed and convened by the Supreme Council for such purpose.
    2. The above applies to any karate event and should not limited to local or international championship.
    3. The Association authority lies only in respect of its members. It should not purport to make rules for athletes and officials from Sabah because such person need not necessarily be member of the Association.
  3. Rules and/or policy on member to be a member with other/any karate Association.

A member of the Association (Sabah Karate Association) shall not, without prior written approval of the Supreme Council, apply to be a member of other/any karate Association (other than Sabah Karate Association). A breach of this rule amounts to a breach of discipline for which the member automatically suspended or expelled from being a member of the Association.
